REV. MR. KEVIN EARLEYWINE
TO BE ORDAINED PRIEST

On May 27, 2017, Kevin will be ordained to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Dubuque, IA. He was born and raised in a family of five children on a farm near Brodhead, WI. His parents are Steve & Kathy Earleywine. He graduated high school in 2008 and attended Loras College in Dubuque. The influence of the vibrant Catholic community there, his time with the FOCUS college ministry, classes on Catholic theology, and encounters with the poor through mission trips all led him to discern the possibility of priesthood. In the fall of 2010 he entered St. Pius X Seminary program at Loras College. After graduating from Loras in 2012 he went to the seminary in Mundelein, IL for theological studies. He took some time off from the seminary and spent six months with a Franciscan community in Chicago who serve the poor. While his time with them was very valuable, he discerned that God was calling him to return to his studies that would lead him to be a diocesan priest. Because of his close connection with the Archdiocese of Dubuque, Father Kevin has chosen to serve as a priest for that diocese. While we would love to have him in the Madison Diocese, our prayers and support are with him as a priest-son of this parish. The last priest from this parish to be ordained a priest for the Madison Diocese was Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl who serves as pastor of St. Mary’s Parish, Portage, WI. Please continue to pray for all priests, and for vocations! Msgr. Larry Bakke
