Prayer and Worship Committee Member: Offers direction for the liturgical aspects of parish life, meets monthly September through May the fourth Tuesday of the month. Art & Environment: Assist in creating new environment for the worship space, design & implement plans for major liturgical seasons. Greeter Ministry: Greet people as they come into church—handshake, welcome to guests, and periodically hand out orders of worship or other information. You need to arrive 20-30 minutes prior to mass. Minister of Hospitality (Usher): Greet people, take up the offering and see to the overall well-being of the worshipping community. Minister of the Word (Lector): Adult and Youth parishioners who prepare and read the assigned readings and general intercessions at weekend and holy day masses. Eucharistic Minister: Assist the priest with distribution of communion during the masses on weekdays, weekends and holy days. Training is provided. Cantor: Lead the assembly’s singing and proclaim the psalms at liturgies. Auditions and ongoing formation required. Training is provided. Youth and Children’s Choir: Lead and enhance assembly’s singing at Sunday mass & special liturgical celebrations. Instrumentalist: Willingness to share talents on as needed basis. Please specify instrument. Linen Washer: Wash and press liturgical linens. Server Ministry: Assist the priest and other ministers during the various liturgies in the church year. Training is provided. FOCCUS Facilitators: Faith-filled married couples who help facilitate FOCCUS (Facilitating Open Couple Communication, Understanding and Study) Inventory for Marriage Preparation. FOCCUS offers over 150 written statements about married life for engaged couples to agree or disagree with privately. The facilitators then score the answers and get together with the couple to discuss the areas which the engaged couples responded differently. Elizabeth Ministry: This ministry is for people who wish to volunteer to provide hope and healing for women and their families on issues related to childbearing, sexuality, and relationships. Training is provided through the Diocese of Madison. Building & Grounds Assist with special projects and overall upkeep of the parish building and grounds. |
